'Work Away from the Computer' time tracking feature
Employees often find themselves working away from their computers, be it for meetings, client calls, or collaborative sessions. Traditional time-tracking methods may fall short in these scenarios, potentially leading to inaccuracies in productivity reports. WorkComposer acknowledges these dynamic work patterns and offers the "Allow Work Away from Computer" time feature, ensuring that every minute of your work, regardless of location, is accounted for.
Enabling "Allow work away from computer" time
Getting started with this feature is simple:
- Sign in into your admin account
- Go to the Tracking Settings
- Look for the "Allow work away from the computer" time feature and enable it.

How it Works
This feature tracks time even when employees are not at their computers. Upon returning, a prompt will ask if they were working away. If the employee selects "I was working away from my computer," WorkComposer will reclassify the time as work hours instead of a break.

Users can also select the project or task they worked on while away.

Important Points to Consider
Stealth Mode Compatibility:
The 'Work Away from Computer' feature is incompatible with Stealth Mode.
Understanding Break Conversion:
Initially, WorkComposer tracks time away from the computer as a break. When users confirm they were working away, it converts this time into work hours. Being aware of this process helps improve time management.
Handling Short Time Intervals:
The system may be unable to track brief periods, such as the seconds to click the button after moving the mouse. This is to prevent system overload from constant activity checks. However, these small intervals can add up over the day. We recommend pressing the 'Work Away' button to reduce untracked time when you return to your desk.
